Health Access Fund

Over 47 million people in the U.S. have no affordable health care, despite the Affordable Care Act, which forces the uninsured to sign up for health insurance coverage, regardless of the individual’s ability to pay. The Act applies fines for failure to comply, while deductibles place many of the offerings out of reach for low-income workers. It is an obvious boon to the corporate medical industry, while providing no solution for working people and the underemployed or for health professionals who care about providing quality medical care.

The Health Access Fund supports efforts of doctors, nurses and other health professionals in joining with their patients, workers organizations and other community members dedicated to eliminating the barriers to affordable preventive health care.
